Hello and thanks for joining me and reading blog 18. This blog is going to have scripture on conduct where sexual indiscretion is concerned. I have been asked many times for help in areas of what is and is not appropriate where pornography is concerned. So the scripture that will be posted should be able to answer some of those questions.

Let me just say this. Anything that takes away from your marriage is a problem. Some people think that viewing porn is a healthy thing to do. Well maybe in the secular world but definitely not when you are a Christian. So I caution people who think that it is ok. One of the reasons is it portrays women as objects and not people. The other thing that porn has the potential to do is to distort ones outlook on sex. Instead of it being something beautiful between two people who love each other it is viewed in a darker light that is more exploiting and sleazy.

Sex should be between two people who are married and love one another. One night stands are not okay. Even if “hooking up” gets a green light today it’s not ok for someone who is looking to live a Christian life, one that is pleasing to God.

Remember God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Anyway with that said I hope you will take the time and read through the scripture especially if you are someone who knows someone that is struggling with a porn addiction.

God Bless You and I hope everyone is doing well and staying close to God during this pandemic. Praying and keeping the faith through this difficult time is a must. Remember we are never alone and God is always with us.

Matthew 5:27-29 27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let
you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Hebrews 13:4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

Psalm 119:37 Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

James 1:14-15 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,

1 John 3:4-10 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
